District Arts Events 2009-2010

Update Jan 26, 2010.

Please note the following change: 2010 District Choir Festival will not be held at Five Flags on April 20th.. The district choir event WILL be rescheduled in late May at one of our DCSD schools.

February 15 - District Jazz Band Festival; details pending district inservice schedule; Roosevelt Auditorium and Music Suite

February 25 - District String Orchestra Festival at Hempstead High School. Washington & Jefferson Orchestra students will be bussed to Roosevelt at 9:00 a.m. for a clinic with the guest director.  Middle school students will return to their schools for lunch.  Elementary students will be bussed to Hempstead around 1:45.  They will rehearse during the rest of the afternoon for the 6:30 concert.  Middle school orchestra members will arrive at 4:45.  High school orchestra members will join their peers at 5:45.  Admission charged.

March 22 - District Band Festival rehearsals with the guest clinician for high school students only.

March 23 - District Band Festival at Senior High School. Elementary school students will be bussed to Senior around 1:45.  They will rehearse during the rest of the afternoon for the 6:15 concert.  Middle School students will be bussed to Senior for a 9:30 rehearsal.  Middle School and High school band members will join their peers at 4:45.  Admission charged.
