Lunchroom posters promote good behaviors

Designed and Illustrated for Audubon School by Gary Olsen

Audubon School's Amy Nauman approached me to help them with a unique project for their lunch area. It's sort of a positive behavior supports kind of thing.

Since I make part of my living as a professional cartoonist, I brought my meager talents to bear on what I thought was a colorful way to convey the message but in a light-hearted way. Plus I'm taking full advantage of our Hewlett Packard large scale printer we have in the Forum Print Center. The prices are extremely low (from 4 to 6 dollars a linear foot depending on material you choose, TyVek or paper) when compared to similar services available for large scale printing. It's really worth a look.

What may be uproarious to an adult may not be appropriate nor funny for a child, so I had to return to my youth and what I considered funny and memorable at the time. Boy, that was a long time ago! But I remember these bubble gum cards illustrated by Jack Davis that we all collected. They were a little gross but extremely funny. They made me want to become an artist. Also, I think kids today laugh at the same things we did when we were their age. My belief is there are two ways to make an impression on a child. You can frighten them or make them laugh. Obviously I decided to go for the laugh.

Upon approval, these posters will be printed by our Forum Print Center on the large format printer and each poster can be up to 36x48 inches. Or you can make them any size you wish that is smaller.
