Season 2 Episode 1
Planting Seeds

Season 4 March 23, 2009

Video Produced by Gary Olsen

pring has sprung! Our first episode of our 4th season of the national award winning series, The Garden Organic, begins with seed planting. We wish to thank Sara Selchert and Steve's Ace Home and Garden Center in Dubuque for their generous support of our program. They are totally in sync with the mission of our program, and that is to teach children about how to grow and prepare food naturally.

Also we want to particularly thank one of our long-time sponsors, The City of Dubuque, and specifically, the Dubuque Parks and Leisure Services Departments. Gil Spence arranged our visit and provided us space in the City Greenhouses on the property of the historic Ham House Museum at the foot of Eagle Point Park. The vast greenhouse has room for our little brace of trays and seeds so that we can get the proper start on our garden this season. We want to thank Mike Horsfall of the Parks Department for helping us and providing us with excellent tips on seed starting.
