All Dubuque Community Schools use a computerized lunch account system, called School Dining Systems (SDS).
Money is placed in an individual account. Breakfast, lunch and ala carte purchases are deducted from the account. Once an application for Free or Reduced meals has been received and approved, the system will automatically calculate the appropriate charge. If there are no funds in the account and the student is not eligible for free meals, or has not filled out an application for the current year, the purchase is charged and the student/parent is responsible for the negative balance.
Payments can be made by check, cash or through the Revtrak on line payment system. Middle and High School students are able to make payments to the cafeteria cashiers before school or during meal times. Elementary students should bring payment to the classroom.
Revtrak is a secure online payment processing system that allows parents to send payments for school lunch (and breakfast) fees by utilizing Visa or MasterCard credit or debit cards.
School Dining Systems Parent al Portal gives you access to view your student/s meal account information.
How to use School Dining System
Our district does not have family accounts; each account is separate. Therefore, when logging into this website, you need an ID and password for each of your students.
The Username is the student's permanent student ID number.
Account and password numbers are listed on low balance reminders sent home with elementary students. The information is also listed on email notifications sent through School Dining Systems, so we encourage you to enter your email address once you log onto the system. If you do not know your username and password, email us at food@dubuque.k12.ia.us .
To logon to the system click on the School Dining icon, enter the username and password. Once you login to the system you should first enter your email information. You can then access account information through the "Reports" pull-down at the top of the page.
How to use Revtrak
Revtrak lets you pay for your child's school meals anytime, anywhere. Using Revtrak is easy and convenient.
To make on line payments to a student's meal account click on the Revtrak link on the School Dining System page or the direct link from the district's website s front page-Where would you like to go? pull down menu-Credit Card Transactions.
If you are using Revtrak, you must enter payment for each student individually, but can be purchased under one order. Just click "Continue Shopping." Once you have reached the RevTrak web store select a school, then select Nutrition Services. You will now be prompted to enter the deposit amount, Student ID and School Dining System Password. If you do not remember your School Dining System log on information email us at food@dubuque.k12.ia.us . This information can also be found on the low balance notifications. Again, a reminder the district does not have family accounts, each account is separate.
Once you have placed an item in the shopping cart you may precede to the check out. There you will be prompted to create an account. If you have used the system in the past simply check "Returning Customer" and enter the password you created.

The policy of the Dubuque Community School District is to offer lunches to all students within the district. As a student's account balance approaches a zero balance or becomes negative, the following procedures will apply.
Elementary School
Students may charge any combination of meals up to a negative balance of $6.00.
When the charge limit is reached a peanut butter sandwich and milk will be served for lunch and graham crackers and milk for breakfast until the charges are paid in full. This lunch or breakfast will not be charged to the student's account.
Payment envelopes indicating the student's account balance, for those accounts with less than $3.00, will be sent home with the students on a weekly basis.
Middle School/High School
Students may charge any combination of meals up to a negative balance of $6.00.
No snacks or ala carte items may be charged.
When the charge limit is reached a peanut butter sandwich and milk will be served for lunch and toast and milk will be served for breakfast until charges are paid in full. This lunch or breakfast will not be charged to the student's account.
If a student with a negative balance attempts to purchase ala carte items with cash, the money must first be applied to the negative balance.
Students will be verbally notified of their account balance at the cash register when the balance falls below $5.00.
Employees may also establish meal accounts and charge any combination of meals up to a negative balance of $6.00.
