All School String Festival

very year, all schools' orchestras combine in one huge festival that culminates in a concert of almost biblical proportions. One look at the gym floor at Hempstead High School as hundreds of students w ith string instruments are giving it all, and you can't help be impressed. But the event signals an important milestone in the development of each student musician. Learning to play in an ensemble and cooperative venture such as an orchestra and concert teaches one the value of collaboration and coordination with others. As students get together, they are capable of doing something greater than they could do all by themselves.
