Dubuque Schools
Now Accept Credit Cards
District launches
pilot program for this fall's registration period.
 The
Dubuque Community School District announces the unveiling of a Pilot Program
for accepting MasterCard and Visa payments for Student Fees and Food Service
Fees (Hot Lunch/Breakfast accounts). This pilot program will begin this
summer at registration time for the 2003/2004 school year at limited school
locations. At Hempstead High School, as you register your child for the
year, you will be able to pay one or both of the above fees with your
credit card. At Senior High School, Jefferson Jr. High School, and Washington
Jr. High School, you may make a payment to Food Service for your child's
Hot Lunch/Breakfast account with your credit card. At all other schools,
there will be automatic payment authorization forms available for you
to complete for payment to Food Service for your child's Hot Lunch/Breakfast
account and the District will enter that information manually. The District
is also establishing a link on the District's web site where parents can
make payments for their child's Hot Lunch/Breakfast account on the Internet.
You will be able to log on to the Dubuque Community School District Store
by clicking here. This
payment option will be available on the district's web site starting August
3. This pilot program will be limited to the following locations during
registration time periods:
Hempstead High School
- Student and Food Service Fees- Tues. August 12, and Wed. August 13;
Senior High School - Food Service Fees - Tues. August 12, and Wed. August
13;
Jefferson Jr. High School - Food Service Fees - Wed. August 13, and Thurs.
August 14;
Washington Jr. High School - Food Service Fees - Wed. August 13, and Thurs.
August 14.
After the registration
period is completed, parents can still make payments to their child's
Hot Lunch/Breakfast account using the Web Store or by filling out the
credit card payment authorization forms. These options will be available
all year.
Please remember
this a Pilot Program being offered by the school district for the first
time. After a successful period with this Pilot Program, the Dubuque Community
School District will expand the acceptance of credit card payments to
more than just the registration process and expand the Web Store to include
all types of fees rather than just the Hot Lunch/ Breakfast program. It
will be as easy as shopping for clothes, books, or gifts on the Internet.
