| § Can I get a copy of my diploma?
There are no copies made of the original diploma awarded at graduation. However, a certified copy of your high school transcript may be obtained from the Dubuque Community School District administrative office at 2300 Chaney Road (563-552-3000). This will list all classes taken, all grades received and, in the case of graduation, will be stamped with your graduation date. A certified transcript is proof of high school attendance / graduation. Each copy will have a raised Dubuque Community School District seal and is considered an “official” or “certified” copy.
Transcript copies are available at no cost at the high school of last attendance from the date of graduation or leaving the district until the October 1st following graduation or leaving the district. On or about October 1st, all permanent record cards are transferred from the high schools to the District office on Chaney Road for image capture and permanent storage.
§ Is there a charge for a certified copy of my transcript of grades?
There is a $7.00 fee for the first copy and a $1.00 for each additional copy obtained at the same time. This fee is subject to change by order of the Dubuque Community School District Board of Education. A $2.00 faxing fee will be assessed when faxing a transcript of grades.
§ Who may release my record?
Either the former student or a parent/guardian must provide a written release before a copy can be obtained or mailed. Often times the former student no longer lives in Dubuque, yet parents or guardians have remained in the Dubuqueland area. It is for your convenience that the District will accept a parent's or guardian's written release.
§ Will a copy of my transcript of grades also have my ACT or SAT scores?
The Dubuque Community School District is not the official keeper of your ACT or SAT scores. If you indicated at the time the test was taken that the test scores should be mailed to Dubuque Community Schools and if the scores were received prior to the image capture of the permanent record, your official transcript will reflect these test scores. If not, ACT may be reached at 319.337.1364 and SAT may be reached at 866.756.7346.
§ Can I just call and get my ACT or SAT scores, cumulative grade point average, or rank in class verbally?
ACT / SAT scores, grade point average nor rank in class will be released without the written permission of the former student or parent. You may fax a written release to 563-552-3014 granting permission to verbally release this information to you, then call 563-552-3012 and ask for Theresa.
§ What information is released without my written permission?
The District will routinely provide confirmation of a former student's name, birth date, dates of attendance and date of graduation or drop from the Dubuque Community School District without written permission of the former student or parent.
§ OK, now how do I obtain a copy of my transcript of grades?
